International Women's Day by Breda Internationals

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. IWD Breda was celebrated first 2021 and second in 2022 with inspiring speakers, yet the global campaign theme continues all year long to encourage action. A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. Let’s all choose to challenge and celebrates women’s achievements. Raise awareness against bias. Choose to make an impact and embrace equity, with large or small outcomes. Change is progress, either way.

IWD’23 Breda will be a live event with an aspiring speaker who attained the highest profession in the Ministry of Defence. Join us on the day where a focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society’s DNA.

• Dutch Airforce General Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan

With Lt. Gen. Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan (1976), the Ministry of Defence has a female “three-star general” for the first time. Only the Air Force does not use stars, but bands. On May 25, 2022, Boekholt-O’Sullivan was promoted. As of June 1, 2022, she is Deputy Director General Policy (Royal Air Force) in The Hague.
